About me

As you’ve gathered, I write about Universalist Christianity. My first website was called “Evangelical Universalist” — named for an antebellum denominational newspaper — and launched me on the Internet late in 1995.

I’m 46 and a Georgia native, living in Washington, D.C. since 2000.

  • 1991. A.B. University of Georgia
  • 1997. M.Div. Brite Divinity School, Texas Christian University

Me, even less recently

I was ordained to “the Ministry of the Gospel” in 1999 and have pastored churches in Georgia and the District of Columbia and served others in Texas and South Carolina in a less formal arrangement. Currently, I have a Day Job in the exciting (really) world of nonprofit operations.

“Hubby” — writer, editor and musician Jonathan Padget — and I have been together for more than eight years and married for six; we live in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington D.C. where we enjoy vinyl records and Japanese television.
