Links for January 12

Goodness, I’m reading 201 news feeds now through Google Reader. Let me step back and point out some goodies I’ve read over the last few days.

  • A lengthy post at the Better Bibles Blog distinguishing internal Christian secrets and mysteries of the faith. (Which makes me want to ask what good reason a religion today has for not making plain its doctrines and distinctives.)
  • Just a hint of snark at Atanu Dey on India’s Development about One Laptop per Child. But I agree.
  • I seem to be in the same place as Mary Hess (Tensegrities) with respect to the Gloria Steinem editorial this week. (Politics aside, religious educators should definately put this blog on their reader roll.)
  • For D.C. residents: I think the Metro Brown Line idea Richard Layman described (Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space) is very desirable, and agree further with suggestions that its northern end be looped back towards Friendship Heights — it seems to end at Fort Totten now — taking some intown pressure off the Red Line.
